Hyyve Inc. is a Toronto-based proptech company planning to disrupt the property listings sector by having agents bid to represent homeowners. It was co-founded by serial entrepreneur Patrick Armstrong and technology sector veteran Kirstin Thomas.
The decision to make Realtor.ca a for-profit subsidiary of the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) is designed for nimbleness and responsiveness, a spokesperson for the Ottawa-based national industry group said.
