Residential Construction Council of Ontario (RESCON) took aim at the Toronto Green Standard (TGS), filing a legal application in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice that argues its performance measures should not be imposed on planning applications.
The high cost of housing across Ontario is stunting new construction and could lead to layoffs in trades already struggling to recruit new workers to accommodate an expected increase in demand, according to a RESCON housing industry report.
