ReMax Canada has recruited veteran real estate industry executive Don Kottick as its next president, and his key goal is to lead additional growth in the franchise nationwide.
In his new role, which begins on April 28, Kottick will oversee Toronto-headquartered ReMax Canada's operations with direction, strategy and support to ReMax Canada’s affiliates, according to a release, and work with the leadership of RE/MAX Quebec.
Based in Toronto, Kottick’s most recent role was as president and CEO of Sotheby's International Realty Canada. He has a wide range of experience at several industry leaders in Canada.
Kottick has also served as a director at large of The Canadian Real Estate Association, executive vice-president of corporate development at Peerage Realty, president of Right At Home Realty Inc. and director of products and services for Royal LePage.
He will bring decades of experience in Canadian real estate across corporate and franchise development, brokerage management, technology and related services.
"I am excited to join this exceptional team and contribute to the next chapter of growth, increased agent productivity, and innovation for ReMax Canada,” Kottick said in the announcement.
“I look forward to working alongside the talented ReMax affiliates across the country to capitalize on what the brand is doing to modernize and forge ahead so that buyers, sellers and consumers continue to think of ReMax first."
ReMax Canada has over 25,000 agents nationwide across more than 970 offices in 10 provinces and two territories.
Innovation, technology growing focus for ReMax
Strengthening ReMax Canada’s position in the real estate market will be central to his role, the release states.
The company is putting a greater focus on “innovation, technology and cutting-edge services” that support its affiliates.
Kottick’s experience and vision in growing real estate brands will be “invaluable”, CEO of Denver-based RE/MAX Holdings, Inc. Erik Carlson said in the release.
Carlson’s “vision and strong commitment to pushing boundaries and evolving to meet the changing demands of the market is something I deeply believe in and wanted to be a part of," Kottick said in the announcement.
