Nanaimo, B.C.-headquartered custom homebuilder and renovator Alair Homes has launched its 100th office in Alexandria, Va., crossing a milestone for its franchise model.
Founded in 2007 by CEO Blair McDaniel, Alair has offices in five Canadian provinces and 13 states in the U.S. The company has most of its offices in Ontario with 24 locations.
The company formerly known as Carbon Design Build, now Alair Alexandria, is its 100th office, marking its third franchise in Northern Virginia.
Alair has franchised custom homebuilders and remodellers since 2012 starting in Edmonton, offering a project management methodology and marketing assistance to its partners.
“Reaching 100 locations is not just a number for us; it's a testament to our commitment to innovation, quality, collaboration and community,” Rob Cecil, president of Alair, said in a release.
“Each Alair partner embodies these values, driving us forward as we reimagine the home building experience across North America."

Cecil said Alair Alexandria’s owner Matt Bieschke and the team “perfectly aligns with Alair's values.”
Bieschke said in the release: “What excites me about joining Alair is the people, the collaboration, the regional presence and the fact that we can do better for our community and clients as part of Alair.”
In an accompanying video, Bieschke said he will remain as owner with the same team, with Alair providing support and resources for the business.
Alair was recognized by Canadian Home Builders’ Association under its National Awards for Housing Excellence in 2016 for its Chrenek Acres project in Edmonton, winning a home renovation award for a whole house over $500,000.
Alair will continue to focus on growth in North America and its procurement and vendor partnership program, it said in the release.
